RIT TPE participates in various competitions around the country each year, designing, modeling, and sometimes building themed attractions.
Toronto Metropolitan Thrill Design Competition
Originally known as the"Ryerson Thrill Design Competition", the Toronto Metropolitan Thrill Design Competition takes place each fall at the Universal Orlando Resort. Teams from universities in North America partake in a 4-day competition, where challenges are revealed on day one and the teams will present their attraction design anywhere from 18 to 72 hours later in a PowerPoint format. In 2022, an open qualifying portion was added to the competition in which teams would create a design for a prompt over the summer and submit the design to be considered for the fall invitational.
